A rally in support of Kavkasia TV is underway in front of the office of TV Company.

Activists of civic youth movements Shetsvale (Change!) and Sirtskhvilia (Shame!) have gathered to show their solidarity to TV Company.

Yesterday, Minister of Finance issued encashment task for three TV Companies – Rustavi 2, TV Pirveli and Kavkasia, due to non-payment of taxes.

“Government punishes those TV companies which are criticizing Bidzina Ivanishvili and are covering real developments about the country. We will protect all media that serve the public interest”, – the rally participant Dimitri Bidzinashvili says.

Opposition parties and Nika Gvaramia, head of TV company “Mtavari” also joined the rally.

The Finance Ministry warned the media companies on December 23 and gave 1-day term to pay the main part of the financial liabilities.
