Rain expected across Georgia from May 2–5

According to forecasters, rain is expected across the country from the evening of May 2 through May 3. Rainy conditions will continue in eastern Georgia through the morning of May 5.

“From the evening of May 2 to the evening of May 3, rain is expected throughout Georgia. From May 4 to the morning of May 5, rainy weather will persist in the eastern regions. In some areas, rainfall may be heavy, accompanied by thunderstorms, hail, and strong winds,” the Agency reported.

The anticipated precipitation may cause a significant rise in river levels, flash floods in smaller rivers, and trigger or intensify landslides and mudslides in hilly and mountainous areas. The danger level is assessed as medium.
