“The draft constitutional law introduces a new third paragraph to Article 30 of the Constitution of Georgia: ‘The protection of family values and minors is ensured by the Constitutional Law of Georgia, which is an integral part of the Constitution’.
To strengthen mechanisms for the protection of family values and the best interests of minors, based on the union of a man and a woman, the draft law addresses the relationship between marriage, adoption, and foster care of minors. It also covers medical interventions for changing a person’s sex, gender indication in official documents, use of gender-defined concepts, and the gathering and dissemination of information on various related issues,” the parliament stated.
