Public Defender visits 32 individuals detained during protest rallies, to react upon alleged mistreatment

“Envoys of the Public Defender’s Office visited 32 individuals detained during protest rallies in the last few days kept at temporary facilities both in Tbilisi and across the country,” the Ombudsman’s Office said in its statement.

According to the statement, based on information received from the detainees, the Public Defender has appealed to the relevant agencies regarding the facts of alleged mistreatment.

“The Public Defender’s Office continues to visit the detainees and provide additional information to the public. Please, contact us with any information you have about human rights violations via the Public Defender’s Office hotline number – 1481,” reads the statement.
