Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili visited the family of Giga Otkhozoria, a Georgian national, who was killed by Abkhaz border guard officers in Khurcha village, in a territory under Georgian control, in Zugdidi town of Western Samegrelo region today.
President awarded Giga Otkhozoria for Civil Bravery after his death and handed over the medal to Giga Otkhozoria’s mother.
“Today we heard the speech of reconciliation from Giga Otkhozoria’s mother that may be said by a mother who lost her child. We all need open-heartedness that is a precondition of reconciliation and unification of the country,” Zurabishvili said.
President visited Giga Otkhozoria’s family together with Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, State Minister for Reconciliation and Civil Equity.
