President Salome Zurabishvili will pay a visit to France on February 17. As part of the visit, she will hold high-level meetings with President Emmanuel Macron, and President of the Senate Gérard Larcher to discuss prospects for further advancing Georgia-France relations and priorities of Georgia’s foreign policy.
Following the meeting with President Macron, the two presidents will sign a declaration of cooperation on launching the Dimitri Amilakhvari Georgian-French Bilateral Political Dialogue that will institutionalize and advance a dialogue between the countries.
A meeting will be held with representatives of the French Institute of International Relations. The French Institute of International Relations will host a debate in which French think tanks, diplomats, businessmen and politicians will participate.
President Zurabishvili will deliver a public lecture, “Georgia and Europe: Opportunities in Uncertain Times” in the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po). As part of the visit, she will hold a meeting in UNESCO, visit Saint Nino Orthodox Church and Chateau of Leuville-sur-Orge. In Paris, she will meet with Georgian students and diaspora representatives to discuss importance and means of their involvement in the current processes of the country.
The Presidential delegation to visit France includes the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Davit Zalkaliani, Charge d’ Affairs at Georgian Embassy in France Teona Giuashvili, and First Deputy Head of President Zourabichvili’s Administration Natia Sulava.
