President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili met with Alejandro Hajdenberg, Head of the IMF Mission, Jeroen Clicq, Executive Director of the Fund, and Andrew Jewell, the IMF’s Resident Representative in Georgia. The meeting took place at the Presidential Palace, as reported by the Administration of the President of Georgia.
The discussion focused on current economic trends in the country, emphasizing the positive outcomes of ongoing economic development. The parties reviewed the existing cooperation between Georgia and the IMF and explored opportunities to further strengthen their partnership. It was noted that, despite geopolitical challenges, Georgia’s sound and consistent fiscal policies have yielded positive results across various sectors.
President Kavelashvili expressed gratitude to the IMF team for their continued support in advancing macro-fiscal and structural reforms in Georgia.
