Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili met female representatives of opposition parties at the Atoneli Presidential Palace.

Ana Tsitlidze, the United National Movement (UNM) member, Ana Natsvlishvili from Lelo for Georgia, and independent MP Khatia Dekanoidze were among those who showed up for the meeting.

The meeting participants discussed the fulfilment of the EC’s 12-point recommendations. MP Salome Samadashvili said that the opposition politicians discussed with President Zourabichvili how to obtain more political support from the European Union.

“Unfortunately, the Georgian Dream managed that the European Commission’s report of November 8 will not call for the candidate status for Georgia because the Georgian Dream failed to fulfil all the requirements. Therefore, we now need a strong impetus of political support. One obvious thing is that the President does not intend to conform to the attempts of Russia and its ally government to crash our country’s European perspective. In this aspect, the President plans to continue her efforts to ensure Georgia’s European future,” said Salome Samadashvili.

“The conversation focused on what should be done in these few remaining days to give additional legitimacy to this issue with international partners,” said Ana Tsitlidze.

According to the meeting participants, no discussion touched on the president’s future political or election plans.
