Police arrest individual currently on probation for group inhuman treatment of minors and organising similar crimes

Officers from the Main Division for Juvenile Affairs under the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) have arrested an individual, previously convicted and currently serving a suspended sentence, charged with group degrading and inhuman treatment of minors, as well as organising similar criminal acts.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the investigation is underway under Article 144³ and Article 25-144³ of the Criminal Code of Georgia, carrying a sentence of up to 10 years’ imprisonment.

“The investigation established that in 2023, one of the leaders of a group adhering to ‘Nazi-Fascist’ ideology, together with accomplices, lured an acquaintance under false pretences to an abandoned location in Tbilisi following an existing dispute. There, using various blunt instruments, they subjected the minor to group physical violence, as well as inhuman and degrading treatment.

The investigation further established that in 2025, the accused organised another instance of group violence, alongside degrading and inhuman treatment, against a second minor.

As part of the ongoing criminal investigation, it has emerged that the video depicting physical and psychological coercion, as well as acts violating human dignity committed against the minor, was filmed on a mobile phone by the accused’s accomplices for the purpose of circulating it online.

Following a thorough police investigation, the suspect was arrested under a judicial warrant.

Some of those involved in these crimes are already serving sentences in a penitentiary establishment. Investigative measures are continuing to identify and criminally prosecute other individuals connected to violent groups adhering to fascist ideology,” the statement released by the MIA reads.
