PM views Report by OSCE Fact-Finding Mission under Moscow Mechanism as full of lies
“The Report by the OSCE Fact-Finding Mission under Moscow Mechanism is full of lies,” Irakli Kobakhidze, Georgian Prime Minister, told reporters.
According to Irakli Kobakhidze, there was a conflict of interest; the process was actually initiated, including by Poland, and it turned out that the expert himself was a representative of the Polish government. He suspects the report was written in advance but published later.
“The report is full of lies, and we will provide details to society. Also, I would like to note that we will expose all the lies reflected in this report. I would also like to note that this report presents specific information and recommendations that correspond to reality and which are necessary to take into account. Such passages are also present in this report. We may dedicate a special briefing to this issue for the society to be informed. There are issues we should address, but in general, the report is full of lies.
The report is politically motivated and you know the reasons behind it, which countries were initiators of this process and how these processes developed. From beginning to end, this is a process that was initiated by narrow political interests. They have not seen a more undemocratic country than Georgia within the OSCE,” said Irakli Kobakhidze.
The PM noted that Georgia is a leading country among OSCE member states with democratic development.
“The double standard is very visible and shameful. All this once again demonstrated the extremely difficult processes that are developing in the European bureaucracy,” he said.
The Report by the OSCE Fact-Finding Mission under the Moscow Mechanism reviews developments in Georgia since spring 2024 in terms of human rights and fundamental freedoms and provides recommendations. The Report urges the Georgian government to repeal laws on family values, transparency, foreign agents and grants.
