PM: Stability in Georgia not accidental but result of deliberate and pragmatic policy choices

“Today, the global landscape is marked by growing uncertainty. The war in Ukraine and the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East remind us of the tragic human cost of geopolitical confrontations. Georgia understands this cost very well,” said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze addressing the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Budapest, Hungary.

According to the PM, the stability Georgia enjoys today is not accidental; It is the result of deliberate and pragmatic policy choices.

“We sincerely hope that peace will soon be restored in the neighboring regions and that military confrontation will be replaced by diplomatic and political dialogue.

As the international system becomes increasingly shaped by conflicts, Georgia has chosen a different approach. We believe in connectivity rather than confrontation. Our goal is to create opportunities for cooperation even in a fragmented world. The stability Georgia enjoys today is not accidental. It is the result of deliberate and pragmatic policy choices.

Predictable governance and a commitment to peace have played a significant role in strengthening our economy and enhancing our national resilience. With this approach, Georgia is distinguished by the fastest economic growth in Europe, averaging 9.3% annually since 2021.

Our region – the South Caucasus – is also undergoing important transformation. New opportunities for peace, connectivity and economic cooperation are beginning to emerge. Georgia strongly supports initiatives that promote stability, dialogue and regional partnership. Our vision is clear – the region should be defined by connectivity, trade and cooperation, rather than by conflict and division,” he said.
