PM says he believes in better future

Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said he hopes Election Day would be peaceful and Georgian voters would make the right choice for the country’s better future.

“I believe that today our people will make another wise decision and vote for the stability of the country and not for the chaos, anxiety, unrest, controversy and polarization stemming from the destructive opposition,” Garibashvili said after having cast his ballot.

PM urged Georgian citizens to go to the polls. He said the ruling Georgian Dream won 47 per cent of voter support in the first round of municipal elections, thus ending the speculation about possible early elections.

Garibashvili elaborated on the allegedly attempted provocations, including in Zugdidi, and warned that all provocateurs would be punished by law regardless of their party affiliations.

Runoff municipal elections are going on in Georgia.
