PM: Opposition pays thousands in Georgian Lari daily for street blockades; We might even thank them

“The opposition finds itself in a challenging situation. They hold daily rallies of approximately 300 participants, following the same routine—blocking the street for an hour before dispersing,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze commented on the ongoing opposition protests during an appearance on Imedi LIVE.

He noted that opposition members willingly participate and, in doing so, contribute tens of thousands of Georgian Lari to the state budget daily.

“They come voluntarily and help replenish the budget. In that regard, we might even thank them,” he remarked.

“As for the opposition parties, they are entirely disoriented. Evidence of internal conflicts is apparent—not only within individual parties but also between them,” the Prime Minister concluded.
