PM meets Bar Association Chairman

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with the Chairman of the Bar Association, Davit Asatiani, to discuss the Convention on the Protection of the Profession of Lawyers, recently approved by the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers, the Government Administration reported.

Asatiani emphasized the importance of Georgia’s ratification of this historic document, which aims to strengthen lawyers’ rights and guarantee their professional freedom.

During the meeting, it was noted that Georgia’s legislation already ensures a high standard of protection for lawyers, with constitutional guarantees on independence and professional freedom introduced under Kobakhidze’s leadership. Asatiani thanked the Prime Minister for considering lawyers’ perspectives during constitutional reforms.
