PM Kobakhidze: Regional minister post to be abolished in ministry merger

“The post of Regional Minister will be abolished. It will be merged into a single ministry, the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure. Consequently, we will no longer have a State Minister post in the cabinet,” declared Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during a press briefing at the Government Administration.

Regarding the appointment of the Minister of Culture, the Prime Minister noted that an update would be announced in the coming days.

“The post of Regional Minister will be abolished. It will be merged into a unified ministry, the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure. Consequently, we will no longer have the post of State Minister within the cabinet structure. As for the Minister of Culture, you will hear an update on that in the coming days,” Kobakhidze stated.
