“We remain optimistic that the strategic partnership with the United States will be restored. The attacks have stopped, and relations have fundamentally recovered,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists.

During his visit to the UN General Assembly, Irakli Kobakhidze noted that he discussed the restoration of the bilateral strategic partnership during brief exchanges with both President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio

“We remain optimistic about the strategic partnership with the United States. We are watching events calmly, just as we calmly watched the attacks that came from their side under the previous administration. Today, too, we are calmly following developments. Thank God, those attacks have stopped, relations have fundamentally recovered, and we remain optimistic that the strategic partnership will be restored. The rest depends on the US administration.

We discussed the strategic partnership during brief conversations with Trump and Rubio. The main issue I raised was the restoration of the strategic partnership. I can give you a general answer, but I cannot go into details, as it was not a public conversation. The point was that the work must continue,” Irakli Kobakhidze said.
