PM: Georgia interested in strengthening partnerships with Azerbaijan, Central Asia to bring more prosperity and stability

“Georgia, with its rapidly growing economy, is a reliable and stable partner,” said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili at the Baku Economic Forum of the United Nations Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA).

According to the PM, Georgia continues the European Union integration while expecting the EU candidate status in December.

However, “Georgia is interested in strengthening its partnership with Azerbaijan, Central Asian region that would bring more prosperity and stability to our countries,” he said.

The PM stressed that Georgia has free trade relations with the CIS countries, the UK, the United Arab Emirates, China and Turkey, and the country recently signed a strategic partnership agreement with China.

“Georgia is the only country in the region that has free trade agreements with China and the European Union,” he said.
