“The election process was competitive and conducted entirely free from the misuse of administrative resources, as well as threats, pressure, and violence,” stated Georgia’s Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, during a press conference held at the Government Administration.
According to the Prime Minister, tomorrow’s elections are of great significance, as they will allow the citizens of Georgia to determine the future development of their towns and villages.
“Today marks the conclusion of the election campaign, and we would like to reflect on the pre-election process. As you are aware, twelve political alliances are participating in these elections, each having had the opportunity to campaign freely and under equal conditions. The process has been competitive and conducted in a manner free from the misuse of administrative resources, threats, pressure, or violence.
We would like to extend our gratitude to the Central Election Commission of Georgia for their exemplary management of the pre-election procedures, and to the law enforcement agencies for ensuring the safety of all citizens throughout the campaign.
Tomorrow, the most crucial elections will take place, where Georgia’s citizens will decide the future trajectory of their local communities. We are proud that, over recent years, local self-governance has become a trusted branch of government, earning the confidence of society. This achievement is a testament to the dedication of every Georgian citizen.
We have every confidence that tomorrow, fellow citizens will choose the options that best promote the progress and development of our cities and villages in each municipality.
On behalf of the Government of Georgia, I would like to call on all citizens to exercise their civic duty responsibly and to participate actively in the local self-government elections,” the Prime Minister concluded.
