PM: As first battlefront is over, interest in second front in Georgia diminishes, resetting EU, US relations
“As soon as the first battlefront is over, the interest in having the second front in Georgia will immediately cease, paving the way for a reset of Georgia’s relations with the European Union and the United States,” stated Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
He noted that after the war in Ukraine ended, the dynamics affecting Georgia would change significantly.
“As soon as the war in Ukraine ends, we will find ourselves in a completely different situation. Therefore, I would not place excessive emphasis on temporary developments, such as the resolution from the European Parliament. Our goal is to reset our relationships. This will undoubtedly happen starting next year.
The war in Ukraine is the primary reason certain forces have differing interests in Georgia. Once the first battlefront is over, interest in having a second front in Georgia will diminish instantly. This will contribute to a renewal of relations between Georgia and the EU, as well as Georgia and the US,” Kobakhidze stated.
