PM, ADB President open ADB’s Permanent Representation’s new office
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Masato Kanda, ADB Country Director Lesley Bearman Lahm, and Minister of Finance Lasha Khutsishvili opened the ADB Permanent Representation’s new office.
According to the Government Administration, the PM emphasized long-term partnership between the ADB and Georgia and extended gratitude to the ADB leadership for support of the Georgian government.
“The bank’s active investment portfolio exceeds five billion US dollars, which is used to finance crucial projects. I extend my gratitude to the entire ADB team and ADB Country Director in Georgia, Lesley Bearman Lahm, for outstanding support,” Kobakhidze said.
The ADB President Masato Kanda spoke about “strong partnership” with Georgia in support of private sector development, large-scale projects implementation, economic growth, strengthening municipal services and branch and institutional reforms.
“Long before we decided to support Georgia’s economic growth, we set a goal to improve the quality of life of the country’s population. Our partnership is built on a strong foundation of shared values and a joint effort to secure a bright future,” he said.
Georgian executive authorities and representatives of finance institutions and business representatives attended the ADB new office’s opening.
