“The Spring Session of the Parliament of the 11th Convocation is opening on February 4 with the annual report of the President of Georgia, which will be dedicated to the primary aspects of the state of affairs in the country”, – the Speaker, H.E. Shalva Papuashvili stated at the Bureau sitting.
He introduced the February 4-7 plenary agenda and overviewed the new legislative initiatives, including the draft amendments to the Rules of Procedure, and the legal package on the amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses submitted for expedited consideration.
The plenary agenda also includes the Draft Resolution of the Faction Georgian Dream concerning the Set-up of the Interim Fact-Finding Commission on the Activities of the Political Regime and the Officials for 2003-2012.
The MPs got cognizant of the organizational issues, including the address of the Foreign Relations Committee on the recall of the Parliamentary Delegation from PACE.
“The Delegation members have individually addressed the PACE President on the termination of their authorities in the Assembly. I intend to follow our Delegation members and address the PACE President for the termination of my authority that there are no members in the Parliamentary Delegation of Georgia and respective information will also be submitted with the elucidation that has been reiterated publicly. We expect the PACE to restore to its initial values that are based on democracy and respect for sovereignty”, – the Speaker stated.
