Parliament Speaker expresses gratitude to veterans, thanks them for service, steadfastness, example they set for future generations
“Today Georgia commemorates the individuals who, during the most difficult moments in our country’s history, placed service to the homeland above personal interests,” said Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, addressing the event dedicated to Veterans Day.
According to the Speaker, the young generation should know that the state is established by individuals who made their choice for the benefit of the country.
“Today, when one part of our country’s territory remains occupied and the international security environment is fraught with serious challenges, your experience serves as a reminder of how precious independence is, how difficult it is to secure peace, and how vital a strong state is.
Dear veterans, you have fulfilled your duty to Georgia with honor. Thank you, each and every one of you, for your service, your steadfastness, and the example you set for your children, your grandchildren, and the future generation,” he said.
