Officers from Patrol Police Department detain individual wanted by Belgium under Interpol Red Notice

Officers from the Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) detained an individual wanted by Belgium under an Interpol Red Notice.

The detained individual was wanted on fraud charges at the request of the law enforcement authorities of the Kingdom of Belgium.

The wanted individual was detained at the Batumi International Airport when attempting to cross the Georgian state border.

Currently, extradition procedures provided for by law are underway regarding the detained person.
