Papuashvili: Georgian Ambassador to shortly present credentials to US President. We hope relations to reset
Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili has expressed hope for a reset in U.S.-Georgia relations as the country’s newly appointed ambassador prepares to present her credentials to the U.S. President formally.
“Georgia’s ambassador will present her credentials to the President of the United States in the coming days. We hope this moment will serve as an opportunity to reset our bilateral relations,” Papuashvili said during an appearance on Georgian Public Broadcaster’s “Actual Topic with Maka Tsintsadze.”
“The fact that the U.S. President granted the agrément to our ambassadorial nominee, Tamar Taliashvili, is in itself a positive sign.
The United States and Georgia share a common enemy – ‘deep state.’ We understand the anatomy of the ‘deep state ‘- its methods and goals – and now the task is in our hands: to defeat it,” the Speaker added.
