Ozurgeti market closed, street trading banned across Municipality

Ozurgeti market has been closed starting this morning within the framework of measures taken in prevention of spread of the novel coronavirus in the country. Street trading has also been banned across the Municipality.

Irakli Siradze, Head of Coordination Headquarters in Ozurgeti town of western Guria region explained that City Hall, Police and volunteers tried to keep the market under control.

Desks were placed separately on a distance, disinfection works were carried out twice and locals were repeatedly warned to observe the recommendations. “However, the market has a private owner and the measures gave no effect,” Siradze said.
