Opposition Alliance's Gvaramia: It's up to Misha to express his views, I am not armored vehicle engineer
Opposition Alliance leader Nika Gvaramia has urged political actors to stop revisiting past disputes.
Gvaramia made the remarks after being asked about a Facebook post by former President Mikheil Saakashvili, in which Saakashvili criticized opposition figure Nika Melia, saying he made a mistake by dispersing a rally demanding Saakashvili’s release.
“I don’t understand how this can be discussed for years. I am not interested in these past events. I ask everyone to forget this for a while,” Gvaramia said.
He added that internal confrontations and renewed divisions are unhelpful to political goals and should be postponed until broader national objectives are achieved.
“If there is anything to discuss, we should do it after we save the country and remove Ivanishvili from politics,” he said.
Gvaramia also responded to another post by Saakashvili, which referenced dissatisfaction with recent protest movements and mentioned the search for “engineers of a revolutionary armored vehicle.” Gvaramia said, “I am not an armored vehicle engineer, so I cannot answer that.”
“It’s up to Misha to express his views. He can do it through his own party, which is part of the opposition coalition,” he said.
