One detained as police seized vast quantities of illicit drugs prepped for sale
Officers from the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia (MIA) have detained one individual on charges of the illegal acquisition, storage, and facilitation of the sale of drugs in exceptionally large quantities.
According to the Ministry, law enforcement officers recovered a diverse array of exceptionally large quantities of illicit substances packaged for distribution. The evidence was seized during searches of the suspect’s person and residence, as well as from locations identified by the accused during an investigative re-enactment. The haul included Cocaine, Alpha-PVP, and approximately 50 grams of Mephedrone divided into 48 individual wraps.
Police also recovered materials explicitly intended for the weighing and packaging of controlled substances.
The investigation is being conducted under Articles 260 and 260-quarta of the Criminal Code of Georgia, offences that carry a maximum penalty of 20 years or life imprisonment.
