No lawsuit will stop our fight for Georgia, says For Georgia’s MP Berdia Sichinava following ban threat

“Georgian Dream will not be able to erase the voices of our patriotic, loyal, and selfless supporters from political life through any lawsuit, nor will it succeed in engineering a convenient, artificial political opposition for itself,” stated MP Berdia Sichinava, a member of the opposition party For Georgia.

According to Sichinava, the party will continue to advance the nation’s interests across all available platforms within its mandate and capacities.

“We wish to respond to the constitutional lawsuit announced by Georgian Dream regarding the banning of our political association, which, under Georgian Dream’s autocratic rule, was certainly no surprise to our team. This process openly and overtly demonstrates the aggressive, anti-state, and anti-national policy that Georgian Dream has been pursuing against its own people and state for recent years, aimed at obliterating dissenting opinion.

No lawsuit, least of all from those who daily betray the national interests of this country through their words and decisions, will alter our independent political trajectory or halt our fight for Georgia. With heightened motivation and energy, we shall continue to advance Georgia’s national interests in both domestic and foreign policy, within the country’s supreme legislative body, the Parliament of Georgia, in local municipal councils, and across every platform within the limits of our mandate and capabilities.

It is particularly cynical that our prohibition is being “demanded” by individuals who actively served the previous regime and who continue to participate in unconstitutional decisions in Parliament today, inflicting daily damage upon Georgia’s national interests and sovereignty.

Georgian Dream will not be able to silence the voices of our patriotic, loyal, and selfless supporters through any lawsuit, nor will it engineer a convenient, artificial political opposition for itself.

A severe historical and political judgment awaits Georgian Dream, particularly against the backdrop of events in Samachablo [South Ossetia], where annexationist processes regarding our historic lands are underway by the Russian Federation amidst the criminal silence and inaction of the Georgian Dream administration. Removing Georgian Dream from power is the inevitable outcome of political logic, and the Georgian people themselves will accomplish this through strictly peaceful means,” stated Sichinava.
