Negotiations between GD, opposition likely to resume this evening

Negotiations between the ruling Georgian Dream party and the opposition may resume from the second half of the day, said Davit Bakradze, leader of the European Georgia party.

According to Davit Bakradze, the 6 main points elaborated by the President of the European Council Charles Michel as the way out of the current political crisis in Georgia, were discussed during the opposition’s meeting with Christian Danielsson, a special envoy of the EUCO President.

“Two issues are especially crucial – early elections and the release of political prisoners. Meetings will continue to see where we are and how possible is to seek the ways out,” Bakradze said.

The special envoy of the President of the European Council arrived in Georgia with a 3-day visit. The purpose of Christian Danielsson’s visit is to mediate political dialogue between the ruling Georgian Dream party and the opposition initiated by EUCO President Charles Michel on March 1.
