Georgian President on meeting with President of Iran: Georgia supports all efforts aimed at achieving peace, stability, de-escalation in region

“I thanked President Masoud Pezeshkian for support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” wrote Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili in his Facebook post.

According to Mikheil Kavelashvili, during the meeting with President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian, he emphasized that Georgia supports all efforts aimed at achieving peace, stability, and de-escalation in the region.

“Within the framework of my visit to Tehran, I attended the funeral of Iran’s former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, alongside leaders of regional and world countries.

I met President of the Islamic State of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian and once again expressed condolences for the tragic developments in Iran and paid tribute to the memories of the victims.

At the meeting, I emphasized that Georgia supports all efforts aimed at achieving peace, stability, and de-escalation in the region.

Relations between our countries are based on mutual respect and respect for national interests. I thanked President Pezeshkian for his support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

I am convinced that cooperation based on good neighbourhood will continue to foster the development of relations between our countries and a stable, peaceful future for our region in the future,” Kavelashvili wrote.
