Michael Roth on Georgian President’s Iranian visit: A disgrace! Poor Georgia!

Michael Roth, German politician of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) and Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the German Bundestag, echoed Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili’s participation in the funeral of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

According to Roth, the visit of Kavelashvili is “a disgrace.”

“A disgrace! Poor Georgia!” he wrote on the X Platform.

President Mikheil Kavelashvili arrived in Tehran to attend the funeral of former spiritual leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He was received by Masoud Pezheskian, President of Iran.

The funeral will be attended by representatives from 100 countries, including Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, Speaker of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova and Vice President of Turkey Cevdet Yılmaz.
