NBG: Foreign debt amounts to USD 19.7 billion

Georgia’s total foreign debt amounts to USD 19.7 billion (64.7 billion GEL) based on the data for September 30, 2020, the National Bank of Georgian (NBG) reported.

The amount makes 120.4% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the last four quarters. Georgia’s total foreign debt increased by USD 781.5 million in Q3, 2020.

The state foreign debt is USD 8.9 billion (29.3 billion GEL) that is 54.6 of GDP, the debt of the governmental sector is USD 6.8 billion, NBG liabilities amount to USD 457.8 million.

Georgia’s net foreign debt amounts to USD 11.6 billion, which is 71.3% of GDP for Q4. This amount counts USD 5.1 billion (16.8 billion GEL) or 31.4% of GDP as the state sector’s foreign debt.
