NATO's JFTC representatives visit Georgia

Brigadier General Petr Svoboda, Deputy Commander of NATO’s Joint Force Training Center (JFTC), and Colonel Ladislav Švejda from the JFTC Training and Exercises Department paid a working visit to Georgia.

According to the Georgian Ministry of Defence, the NATO delegation was hosted at the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC) in Krtsanisi.

Colonel David Gagua, JTEC Commander, provided an overview of the centre’s history, objectives, completed projects, and plans for the future during an information briefing.

The meeting emphasized the long-standing cooperation between JTEC and JFTC, as well as JFTC’s support in JTEC’s development. A key topic of discussion was the NATO-Georgia 2025 exercise, set to take place in Georgia this year.

General Svoboda received updates on the planning and final preparations for the exercise. During their three-day visit, the JFTC representatives met with Major General Zaza Chkhaidze, Deputy Commander of the Georgian Defence Forces, and other defence officials. They also visited the Combat Training Center (CTC), a component of JTEC.

JTEC has been collaborating with JFTC since 2017 under a mentoring program, and in 2020, the two centres formalized their partnership with a cooperation agreement, the Ministry of Defence stated.
