National Tourism Administration: Georgia welcomes record 5.5 million tourists in 2025
Georgia recorded a historic high in tourist visits in 2025, with a total of 5,521,866 arrivals, a 8.4% increase compared to 2024, the National Tourism Administration announced.
Last year, the country was visited by 7,803,239 international travellers, marking a 5.9% rise from the previous year.
A notable surge was seen in visits from the European Union and the United Kingdom, which together reached 499,890, a 14% increase compared to 2024.
“It is particularly noteworthy that last year saw record-breaking numbers from the United Kingdom (+39.1%; +12,646 visits), Greece (+28.2%; +7,765 visits), France (+17.4%; +4,917 visits), Italy (+39.4%; +7,840 visits), and Spain (+48.6%; +7,167 visits),” the administration stated.
Beyond the EU and the UK, growth was also observed in other key markets. In 2025, visits from the Persian Gulf countries totalled 145,513 — a 3.4% rise (+4,774 visits), with Saudi Arabia contributing a significant increase of 9.1% (+8,042 visits).
The most remarkable growth in visits came from the following nations: Israel (+91,444 visits; +29.4%), Azerbaijan (+72,793 visits; +33.2%), and China (+39,312 visits; +44.4%).
The fourth quarter of 2025 was particularly distinguished by a record number of international tourist arrivals. From September to December, Georgia saw a maximum of 1,214,772 visits, a 10.5% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
Overall, from September to December 2025, Georgia welcomed 1,693,484 international tourists, a 7.6% rise compared to the last quarter of 2024, the National Tourism Administration reported.
