Georgia, Armenia Interior Ministers attend rescue operation demonstration in Batumi

Georgia’s Interior Minister Sulkhan Tamazashvili and Armenia’s Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan attended a demonstration of a rescue operation in Batumi, Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

According to the ministry, the guests were shown capabilities for rapid response to incidents at sea, coordinated action by different units and the effective implementation of rescue operations.

Employees of the Border Police Coast Guard Department, the Special Aviation Department and the Emergency Management Service of Georgia’s Interior Ministry participated in the demonstration.

Various types of watercraft, a drone and a Border Police helicopter were used during the operation.

Deputy interior ministers and senior officials from various departments of the Interior Ministry also attended the event, according to the ministry.
