National Food Agency hosts working meeting for dairy company owners

The National Food Agency hosted a working meeting for dairy company owners and association leaders.

The agency’s chief, Zurab Chekurashvili, talked about control measures, noting that the National Food Agency has conducted 4,786 state inspections of dairy production firms and retail facilities this year, with a 3.3% rate of breaches according to April statistics.

“In addition, raw milk is actively tested for several indicators (brucellosis, enterotoxin, aflatoxin M1, lead concentration, salmonella, listeria, and so on). 300 samples will be gathered this year.

On average, the National Food Agency inspects dairy-producing firms ten times a year.

Last year, the Agency conducted 17,000 state inspections, with a violation rate of 3.2%,” the agency stated.
