Parliament elects Grigol Murghulia, Davit Kartvelishvili as members of GPB Board of Trustees

The Parliament of Georgia elected Grigol Murghulia and Davit Kartvelishvili as members of the Board of Trustees of the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB).

Grigol Murghulia was nominated by the Georgian Dream faction. Eighty-two MPs supported his candidacy, while two lawmakers voted against. The People’s Power candidate Davit Kartvelishvili was elected with 83 votes.

In addition, three candidates nominated by the “For Georgia” faction were put to the vote: Tea Gegenava – (12 in favor, five against), Eliso Gabadadze – (12 in favor, eight against), Teimuraz Kekelidze – (12 in favor, seven against), however, they did not receive the sufficient number of votes.
