National Food Agency confirms no cases of avian influenza detected in Georgia

Under its Animal Health Protection Programme, the National Food Agency (NFA) conducts continuous disease surveillance and laboratory testing, including monitoring for avian influenza, the agency announced in an official statement.

According to the authority, recent testing confirmed zero cases of bird flu across Georgia.

“It should be noted that under current legislation, food business operators are legally required to notify the Agency immediately upon any suspicion or detection of an infectious disease, enabling the Agency to implement statutory control measures in coordination with the operator. At this stage, the Agency has received no notifications regarding any disease outbreak. The National Food Agency continues intensive monitoring and maintains active communication with representatives across the poultry sector,” the NFA statement read.
