MP Tsilosani: Lithuanian gov't putting us on persona non-grata list and making unfair decisions resigns over corruption scandal
Georgian Parliament Vice-Speaker Nino Tsilosani has commented on the Lithuanian government’s resignation, saying that “the Lithuanian government that placed [us] on the persona non-grata list resigned due to a corruption scandal.”
According to her, “Such people make unjust decisions. It’s interesting who will be next?”
Following Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas, Lithuania’s entire government is resigning today. On July 31st, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda announced that Prime Minister had submitted his resignation.
Reportedly, several scandals erupted around Paluckas in Lithuania when journalists uncovered his suspicious business connections. Based on this, Lithuania’s Prosecutor General’s Office assigned the Special Investigation Service to investigate these circumstances. Nausėda gave Paluckas two weeks to provide explanations regarding the allegations.
