MP Matikashvili: Gakharia’s party falls into folly; seeks to exploit parliament’s benefits, pursuing UNM's agenda
“Gakharia’s party is merely making a fool of itself. They seek to enjoy the benefits associated with parliamentary participation, yet at the same time refuse to abandon their degraded, politically inappropriate course, a path that calls into question the very legitimacy of the parliament,” stated MP Davit Matikashvili, Chairman of the Procedural Issues Committee of the Georgian Parliament, speaking to GPB First Channel.
According to Matikashvili, Gakharia’s party seeks to continue a policy that can only be characterised as fulfilling the mission assigned to one faction of the collective United National Movement.
“If the parliament is illegitimate, then what purpose do they serve in parliament? They want to persist with the agenda of fulfilling the task of one wing of the collective United National Movement. It appears that they have received orders from those who have tasked them from outside the country,” said Davit Matikashvili.
