Gakharia's party MPs arrive in parliament

Members of the Gakharia for Georgia party arrived at the Georgian parliament.

Giorgi Sharashidze, one of the leaders, stated that the only individuals who have conferred legitimacy upon the Georgian Dream are those irresponsible politicians who participated in organising the peaceful overthrow on October 4.

“We must face the reality. The Georgian Dream faced a legitimacy crisis and numerous other issues, and it committed a series of crimes following the fraudulent 2024 parliamentary elections. Unfortunately, the boycott campaign ended after October 4 due to irresponsible provocation. This gave the Georgian Dream further grounds to overcome its legitimacy crisis.

Therefore, we believe that those who granted legitimacy to the Georgian Dream are the irresponsible politicians directly involved in the October 4 special operation. The Georgian Dream could have taken steps to prevent this provocation, but it did nothing. If anyone bestowed legitimacy upon the Georgian Dream, it was those irresponsible politicians who participated in organising the peaceful overthrow on October 4,” he said.

Furthermore, Sharashidze was asked about the law concerning the banning of political parties, to which he responded that “the party will rescue itself.”

“Everything is as expected. No one can teach us about political struggle. Our primary focus is to utilise all the tools and platforms available to the people,” Sharashidze stated.

The Gakharia for Georgia party announced on October 20 that it would be entering Parliament. The party emphasised that failing to utilise the platforms of Parliament and local councils is not only a mistake but also a crime against the country and its people.

Additionally, on October 26, Rusudan Tevzadze, a member of the political council of the Gakharia for Georgia party, announced that he was renouncing her parliamentary mandate and quitting the party.
