Rusudan Tevzadze resigns parliamentary mandate and leaves Gakharia for Georgia
Rusudan Tevzadze, a member of the Political Council of the Gakharia for Georgia party, has announced that she is resigning her parliamentary mandate and leaving the party.
Tevzadze shared the decision in a post on social media. According to her, the move is not directed against Gakharia for the Georgia party.
“You know that since 2021 I have served as a member of the Political Council of the ‘Gakharia for Georgia’ party and as the curator of the education and culture direction. In this role, I have tried to do meaningful work for the country. You also know that I hold a parliamentary mandate, which I received through complex and often controversial joint work with colleagues and friends.
However, today, in the face of extremely difficult domestic and foreign challenges for Georgia, I have made a humanly difficult, yet, in my view, civically correct decision — for the sake of my children and the future of their generation. I am resigning my parliamentary mandate and leaving the party.
P.S. I state loudly and clearly that this decision is in no way directed against the political force ‘Gakharia for Georgia’. My colleagues remain my friends and respected professionals, and I wish them success on this path,” Tevzadze wrote.
The Gakharia for Georgi” party announced its decision to enter parliament on October 20, emphasizing that refusing to use the parliamentary and municipal tribune is not only a mistake, but also a crime against the country and its people.
