MP Kadagishvili: Eurobarometer survey places public trust in Georgian Parliament among Europe’s top ten
“The latest Eurobarometer survey results prove profound public trust in Georgia’s government institutions, placing the Parliament of Georgia among Europe’s top ten highest-ranked legislative bodies,” parliamentary majority member Irakli Kadagishvili said.
The MP commented on findings from the European Commission-commissioned survey, which revealed that public confidence in the Georgian legislature surpasses that of 23 EU and NATO member states, including Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, and nearly all of Eastern Europe.
“We have before us a highly significant study commissioned by the European Commission for Eurobarometer, in which public trust in the Georgian Parliament ranks us within Europe’s top ten. We outperform major European nations such as Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy, and Belgium, as well as virtually every state in Eastern Europe, outstripping 23 EU and NATO member countries in total,” Kadagishvili stated.
“This underscores precisely what the Georgian electorate desires. The public maintains confidence in their government and in the integrity of domestic elections. While the opposition sought to pursue an entirely different agenda rather than respecting the popular vote, these metrics confirm that Parliament is functioning effectively and delivering on economic, social, and political challenges. It is clear proof that Georgia’s democratic institutions are robust and working,” the MP added.
