MP Gorduladze: Georgia aims to become IT hub

“Georgia is striving to become a major information technology (IT) hub,” says Archil Gorduladze, a member of the parliamentary majority, in an interview with the GPB First Channel.

He emphasised that attracting more IT specialists will boost the country’s development and ensure stable progress.

“The more IT professionals enter Georgia, the better it will be for our economic growth. To support this, we are introducing new residency options: individuals with at least two years of experience earning a minimum of USD 25,000 will be eligible for a three-year residence permit, which will be extendable,” Gorduladze explained.

Gorduladze stressed that these measures are designed to promote knowledge exchange among IT professionals and drive economic growth.

“Modern progress is impossible without IT, and our goal is to position Georgia as a leading destination for IT talent,” he added.

The Law on the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons is being amended to include a new residence permit category for individuals employed in the IT sector.
