MP Archil Gorduladze: Call centres constitute serious crime aimed at fraudulent seizure of others’ property

According to MP Archil Gorduladze, the Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs, Eliso Kiladze can substantiate her innocence before a fair and impartial court.

Gorduladze emphasised that those responsible for such crimes will be held accountable.

“Call centres are a grave offence designed to appropriate individuals’ property unlawfully. The statement issued by the State Security Service confirms that attempts to seize people’s assets have been made and have succeeded in some instances. Anyone found guilty of such crimes will face the appropriate consequences. Eliso Kiladze has long been associated with spreading falsehoods; this is nothing new. For years, she has been engaged in disparaging others to serve her personal interests and bolster her own position. However, her actions are increasingly out of sync with the current situation in the country. Kiladze will have the opportunity to prove her innocence before a fair court. This case marks one of the criminal proceedings in which Eliso Kiladze will be required to answer in the very court she has previously sought to discredit,” noted Archil Gorduladze.

For context, the Georgian Prosecutor’s Office has charged Otar Partskhaladze in connection with the so-called call centre operations, involving fraud and money laundering. Eliso Kiladze, founder of the Kronika+ media outlet, is also detained in the same case.
