More than 100 first-year cadets join David Aghmashenebeli National Defence Academy

First-year cadets have joined the David Aghmashenebeli National Defence Academy of Georgia. This year, more than 100 university applicants successfully enrolled as cadets at the Academy.

The National Defence Academy staff briefed the first-year cadets on safety regulations and legal frameworks.

The cadets were issued military uniforms, after which they were assigned to their barracks.

Before entering military life, the young recruits completed an internal selection process that included physical fitness testing, psychological evaluation, and medical examinations.

According to the Ministry of Defence, the first-year cadets will complete a six-week Basic Military Training programme. Following the initial orientation and isolation period, they will proceed to their undergraduate degree programmes: Defence and Security, Defence Management, Cyber Operations and Information Security, Mechanical Engineering, and Aeronautical Engineering.

Upon completing the program, graduates will receive both a bachelor’s degree and the military rank of lieutenant.

Cadets receive an incremental stipend and are fully provided with accommodation, meals, course materials, stationery, uniforms, and military equipment. The Academy’s infrastructure completely aligns with the highest standards for a military institution. Upon graduating from the National Defence Academy, cadets are guaranteed 100% employment at the Defence Forces.
