Ministry of Economy: Record-breaking exports from Georgia surge by 21.1% in first four months of 2026
During the first four months of 2026, Georgia’s exports surged by an impressive 21.1%, reaching a record-breaking total of USD 2,439.8 million, according to the Ministry of Economy.
The ministry also reports that April’s figures were similarly record-breaking: according to available statistics, exports increased by 16.1% in April compared to the same month last year, reaching USD 716.2 million.
“In April, trade turnover also hit a new peak, USD 2,197.1 million, representing an increase of 2.6% compared to the same period last year. For the first four months of 2026, trade turnover rose by 1.7%, reaching USD 8,132.1 million,” the ministry stated.
The trade balance also improved in April, with the trade deficit amounting to USD 764.7 million, a reduction of USD 143.8 million year-on-year.
It is worth noting that 2025 saw record levels of exports and trade turnover. During that year, exports grew by 11.2%, reaching USD 7.3 billion, while trade turnover increased by 10.5%, totalling USD 25.9 billion, the ministry added.
