Three memorandums of understanding have been signed between Georgia and Uzbekistan at the Government Chancellery, as part of the official state visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

According to the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, the agreements were signed by the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Davit Songhulashvili, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov.

“Uzbekistan is one of the pivotal nations in Central Asia. Within the framework of our Strategic Partnership Agreement, we have signed three cooperation memoranda spanning agriculture, environmental protection, and radioactive waste management. All three sectors are vitally important. Naturally, priority areas of cooperation have been outlined for each field, which will undoubtedly translate into even closer ties with Uzbekistan. This opens up even greater horizons for exporting Georgian agrifood products, which will boost farmers’ incomes and drive the country’s economic development,” Davit Songhulashvili stated.

According to the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, the newly signed memoranda of understanding outline extensive cooperation in environmental and radiation protection, nuclear safety, and agricultural development.
