Miners, Georgian Manganese reach Agreement

With the mediation of the Trade Unions, striking miners and the Georgian Manganese Company reached an agreement.

The miners will resume work on July 1 instead of August 1. Taking into account, the inflation rate, the wages will increase by 5% to 60% for those, who worked from February, while additionally by 6,9% from July 1. The agreement stipulates a wage rise from 1 to 5% if the inflation rate further goes up.

An agreement has been reached on the establishment of a joint commission staffed by an employer, Professional Unions, state representatives and Labor Inspection to regulate the other 13 points of the demands and their resolution.
