As part of Georgia’s Independence Day festivities, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will welcome citizens in Poti on May 26. The event, organized by the Government Administration, will begin at 12:00 in the central square.
Visitors will be able to explore historical installations themed around Independence Day, view special equipment from various units of the Ministry, and visit exhibition and information stands. The Border Police will present their new helicopter, and the event will also feature a concert, as well as a food and handicraft fair showcasing local entrepreneurs.
A range of educational and entertainment activities will be available for children. The Public Safety Command Center “112” will offer games designed to teach emergency response skills, and attendees can listen to real emergency calls at the “Life Call” stand.
The Patrol Police Department will introduce the “Smart City” concept, organize fun activities, and promote road safety. Children will pass through a mock passport control area and receive commemorative passports.
The MIA Service Agency will host bicycle races, where children will symbolically earn a bicycle license and take the podium. A historical exhibit will display vintage Georgian driver’s licenses, registration certificates, and license plates.
The Forensics Department will simulate an accident scene where children can learn investigation techniques with expert guidance. A chemistry show will also be presented.
The Border Police will showcase both coastal and land-based equipment, along with historical photo booths. The Security Police will host creative workshops in a simulated guard house, where teenagers can try on police gear and role-play as officers.
The Emergency Situations Management Service will set up a climbing wall for children, and the MIA Academy will feature a virtual shooting range and display various uniforms.
At 17:10, the Georgian national anthem will be played—marking the exact time in 1918 when Noe Zhordania declared Georgia’s independence.
